The R D Homoeopathy Medical College and Hospital was started functioning from the academic year 2017-18 after obtaining the required permission from Government of India, Ministry of AYUSH. The college has all the required NOCs and permission for running B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery) course from the concerned authorities. The College has been affiliated to Madhya Pradesh University of Health Sciences, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh for running B.H.M.S. Degree Course.
The R D Homoeopathy Medical College and Hospital was started functioning from the academic year 2017-18 in a spacious building constructed on the adjoining plot of land admeasuring 4.90 acres.
The B.H.M.S. Degree Course is a course of study consisting of Curriculum and Syllabus prescribed by the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi through Homoeopathy (Degree Course) B.H.M.S. Regulations, 1983 (As amended upto March, 2016). The B.H.M.S. course is spread over a period of 51/2 years, including the compulsory Internship of one year duration after passing the final Degree Examination. Every candidate shall have to complete the course including the passing of examination in all subjects and complete the compulsory internship training within a period of eleven years from the date of admission in First B.H.M.S. course in the College concerned.
The admission capacity allowed by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board of National Commission for Homoeopathy, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India is 100 seats in first year of BHMS course.
Each candidate shall be required to undergo compulsory internship of one year, after passing the final BHMS Examinations, to the satisfaction of the Principal of the College. Thereafter only, the candidate shall be eligible for the award of Degree of Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S.) by the University and to obtain full registration from the State Homoeopathic Council/Board. Each candidate shall be required to obtain a provisional passed certificate from the University for obtaining provisional registration of a minimum of one year to undertake the compulsory internship. In the event of shortage or unsatisfactory work, the candidate will be required to obtain an extension of the provisional registration from the State Board/Council and undertake the remaining period of compulsory internship to the satisfaction of the Principal of the College.
The internee students shall not prescribe the treatment including medicines, and, each of them shall work under the direct supervision of Head of Department concerned and/or a Resident Medical Officer. No intern student shall issue any medico-legal document under his/her signatures.
A minimum of 80% attendance is required for an intern student during the period of Internship. The students shall be eligible for registration with the State Homoeopathic Council/Board only after successful completion of the Internship Training.
