The Assam Institute of Nursing, Sri Durga Sarani Botertol, Meherpur, Silchar -15 was established in the year 2018. The institute has been set up to inculcate human values, to provide contemporary knowledge and impart skill thereby creating employment opportunities to young men and young women in the profession of nursing. The management of Assam Institute of Nursing desires that each and every students is embedded with a spirit of genuine interest in the developing knowledge and skill to become a proficient nurse.

Introduction

The Institute conducts three (3) years Dimloma Course in General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM) including internship.

Duration of Course

The The duration of the course is three years including internship.There should be Preliminary Period of 12 weeks before going to Clinical experience duty in the hospitals. However if the duration of the course is increased by the Council on any ground then the institution will not bear the cost for extra period. The duration of the Course is subject to chnage

ADMISSION TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR GENERAL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY (GNM) COURSE

• Minimum educational qualification
  • 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized Board. Candidates are also eligible from state Open School recognized by State Government and national Institute of Open School recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
  • 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM Course from the School recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
• Physical and Mental Fitness: The applicant must be physically and mentally fit to undergo class room teaching and practical training of 3 years duration.
• Age: Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 31st December of that year). The upper age limit is 35 years. For ANM/LHV, there is no age bar.
